主題式英文歌教學 議題融入教學 男人的情歌之失戀大補帖 (附完整歌單、連結與教學重點)

現在這篇來到了失戀這個階段💔，精選了6首情歌，包含不同失戀的原因和心情以及處理方式，這部分我比較著重在「情境營造(寫作技巧)」以及「情緒調適(情意)」這兩大塊的分享唷！

Apologize (by Timbaland feat. One Republic)

這首歌曲調非常悲傷，到了副歌的部分節奏強烈，而且主唱在真假音之間完美轉換，One Republic也在參與這首歌之後開始大紅大紫。歌曲大意是說主角很珍惜與所愛之人的關係，對方卻任意對待，再來挽回的時候，主角告訴他：現在道歉已經太遲了。
  1. 情境營造：主角心境上的轉折；too...to的用法(太...以至於不能...)
  2. 情緒調適：如何和一段關係好好說再見


This Love (by Maroon 5)


I was so high, I did not recognize
The fire burning in her eyes
The chaos that controlled my mind

And her heart is breaking in front of me

新一代的學生應該對Maroon 5比較有印象的都是Sugar這首輕快甜美的歌，但是This Love可是Maroon 5在2004年爆擊樂壇的歌，奪得超多大獎，MV在Youtube上瀏覽次數破兩億，節奏明快，琅琅上口，前奏超級好聽，而且一聽很容易跟著邊晃頭邊唱！但是呢...歌詞內容和MV都有點過度露骨，所以我貼的連結是他們多年後在小型演唱會演唱的版本，大家有興趣可以自己去查原版的MV，如果要給學生看的話也需要斟酌一下。
  1. 情境營造：主角的矛盾(一而再被拋棄，可是當對方回來卻又無法拒絕)
  2. 情緒調適：分分合合的親密關係出了什麼問題？


All of Me (by John Legend)

這首歌用簡單的鋼琴伴奏，聽起來很柔和舒服。雖然是John Legend唱給未婚妻的情歌，但我還是把這首歌放在失戀大補帖的歌單裡面，因為我認為也可以這首歌解讀為「深沉的告白，即使對方有不完美，仍願意付出所有，並且期待對方也全心全意付出所有」，即將失戀或分手的時候，就是會有這樣的心情呀，加上這首歌的曲調其實真的不是那麼歡快，所以掙扎了一下，還是放在失戀大補帖這個類別。
  1. 情境營造："My head's under water. But I'm breathing fine."這句應該如何解讀較為恰當？有哪些不同的解讀方式？
  2. 情緒調適：當付出卻沒有回報的時候，該怎麼辦？


Let Her Go (by Passenger)


'Cause you only need the light when it's burning low
Only miss the sun when it starts to snow
Only know you love her when you let her go
Only know you've been high when you're feeling low
Only hate the road when you're missing home
Only know you love her when you let her go 
And you let her go 

這是Passenger非常著名的歌，曲調好聽，百聽不厭。這也是我超級喜歡的一首歌，第一次聽的時候還哭了。歌詞呈現滿滿的遺憾感，人常常等到失去後，才發現曾經擁有的是多麼珍貴與美好，但往往已經來不及了...而歌詞最後說Only know you love her when you let her go, and you let her go，更是一種令人忍不住嘆口氣的遺憾：「當你放手的時候才發現有多愛她，但最後還是放手了」。
主唱有英國腔，可以藉機讓學生練習聽不同的腔調，說說他們的發現。
  1. 情境營造：歌詞如何呈現出美好和遺憾的感覺？請依據歌詞的句型Only ...when you...來營造這樣的美好與遺憾並存的感覺。
  2. 情緒調適：人生遺憾的時刻有哪些？時間不能重來，該如何處理這樣的遺憾？


Bitter Pill (by Gavin James)


They came down to the room 
And I could see it written all over you 
Since you already know. 
That I said, sorry, but I gotta go
And I'll rip these walls apart 
And I went and shot an arrow right through your heart 
But how those times have changed 
'Cause now you don't remember my name
I'm sorry that I'm here so late

這首歌在臺灣並沒有很紅，查詢的時候務必要加上Gavin James的名字，才不會查錯。Gavin James唱這首歌的時候，刻意用比較拖的唱腔，聽起來就有一種沉重不舒服的感覺。歌詞內容很明顯就是在說主角有多悔恨，多想挽回，而這樣的悔恨就像要吞下一顆很苦的藥，難以下嚥。
  1. 情境營造：為什麼歌名要叫Bitter Pill？bitter pill象徵什麼？
  2. 情緒調適：如何修復一段破碎的關係或是療癒自己心裡的傷口？


Pray for You (by Jaron feat. The Long Road to Love)


I haven't been to church since I don't remember when
Things were goin' great 'til they fell apart again
So I listened to the preacher as he told me what to do
He said you can't go hating others who have done wrong to you
Sometimes we get angry, but we must not condemn
Let the good Lord do His job and you just pray for them
I pray your brakes go out running down a hill
I pray a flowerpot falls from a window sill and knocks you in the head like I'd like to
I pray your birthday comes and nobody calls
I pray you're flyin' high when your engine stalls
I pray all your dreams never come true
Just know wherever you are honey, I pray for you

這首歌曲風非常輕快，不仔細看歌詞，還以為是很歡樂的歌，或者是一個人洗心革面的歌😂😂😂。最前面還說去找牧師，牧師告訴他把那些憤怒交給上帝，他只需要為對方祈禱。所以主角就靈機一動，開始用I pray...要為對方祈禱，但是內容是希望對方生日沒有半個人祝福、輪胎爆胎、花盆砸到對方的頭、夢想這輩子都不會實現諸如此類的狠毒內容，最後一句甚至還說：親愛的，你要記得，不論你在哪，我都會為你「祈禱」。Jaron還特地咬牙切齒地唱pray這個字，整首歌充滿了滿滿的戲謔感。
  1. 情境營造：歌詞是如何鋪陳意想不到的結果？如何讓主角按照別人的勸戒但又達成自己目的？
  2. 情緒調適：被背叛的時候，除了像是這首歌以祝福之名行詛咒之實之外，還有什麼其他可以做的？
